The Argentine superstar made his way to the United States in the summer of 2023 having starred in Europe for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Messi agreed to an initial two-and-a-half year deal.

That agreement is due to come to a close at the end of the 2025 campaign, but a clause can be triggered that keeps him in South Florida for another 12 months. Inter Miami have always stated their confidence in keeping Messi on board for 2026 – taking him through the next World Cup finals.
